You Are a Sweet Person
When it comes to snacks, you're more likely to grab some candy than heat up a pizza.
There's a good chance you're female (women prefer sweet snacks)...
Or at least, you prefer to be in the company of women.

Inspired by the book Salty Sweets (omg, it's beautiful!) and Bi-Rite Creamery Salted Caramel Ice Cream (I had it this Summer for the first time — major sweet tooth mistake!) I set out to make salted caramels. I used the Epicurious Fleur de Sel Caramels recipe because it popped up when I Googled from the baking isle of Safeway, and borrowed a fancy candy thermometer from my mother (gee wiz, those things are fun). I was careful to not heat the mixture over 248 degrees and the treats turned out decadent and delicious.

Hi ladies,
About a month ago, I posted the first part of a product review for the John Masters Organics product line. I’ve been using my stash for about a month now, so I figured it was about time for a follow-up.
The original review is posted here: http://teamsugar.com/group/88093/blog/3142111
I’ve reviewed each product from my original order below and included how much of the product I actually used in the past month:
Lavender rosemary shampoo for normal hair
I was intimidated by the very poignant lavender smell at first because I tend to be quite sensitive to strong scents (Clinique Happy, anyone?), but I definitely do not feel like I’m walking around with lavender strapped to my head.

Had received a dressing down because i had oedemas (in my legs). NO salt – over – well – yes I started… Now I know why that fairy tale in which the three daughters of the king were asked by their father: “how do you describe my love for you?” – the first said sugar – the second said like my best dress and the third answered: LIKE SALT… Only those who know how food tastes without salt – know how right the third daughter was… Well – the father was stupid – he kicked her out of the house… After years – when he tasted food without salt because they had no more salt left in the palace – he remembered how right his third daughter was and was very upset of himself… He then regretted bitterly what he said and did to her… WELL at least he knew at last – some NEVER know not even when they are dying – no – that is no longer abt salt… ;)
OK so no more salt – nettle tea and not standing nor sitting too long… For a housewife THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM – right? Well coffee and salt – because coffee too – kept these oedemas alive – brilliant – how great!

Okay, I have a no-so-secret addiction. My family knows I LOVE kettle popcorn. I picked up a box of Jolly Time's "Kettle Mania" flavor microwave popcorn, and OMG....

Most respectable sauces made at home and some of the better bottled sauces achieve a balance of sweet, sour, spicy, and salty. Don't forget to add what really sets a great sauce apart...which is whatever your favorite flavor is!!
Here is a breakdown:
SWEET:
granulated sugar
light or dark brown sugar
cinnamon
honey
molasses
maple syrup
hoisin sauce
coke or pepsi
corn syrup (eww, I don't like that one though)
SOUR:
distilled vinegar
cider vinegar
red or white wine vinegar
balsamic vinegar
rice wine vinegar
lemon or lime juice
mustard (this is actually very tasty and a great tenderizer)
the juice from a pickle or relish jar
capers
SPICY:
hot sauces
fresh or dried chiles
black pepper
cayenne pepper
crushed red pepper flakes
horseradish
SALTY:
kosher or sea salt
soy sauce (careful with this one)
fish sauce
Worcestershire sauce
olives
anchovies

My husband and I got really fed up of looking for an apartment, so today we went for a walk around Bergen (Norway) to discover our new hometown. I had been to the port a few times already but always at night, so I always missed the fish market. I had read that the fish market was great, but never thought it would be that great.
