Sake Sangrias
The Japanese beverage isn't just a winter drink. With these cool, fruity punches, it's the perfect summer refresher, too.

At this tiny offshoot of Chow Bar, mild Okagura sake, riesling, and brandy make for a sangria that's as crisp as a cool glass of lemonade.

Ok, everyone, I have started delving into my main makeup drawer and tackle box! Here are the things I have come up with for trade or give away. You don't have to necessarily have anything to trade me - I really am just trying to clean out and give these things to someone who wants them and will use them!

Ok, my fellow BPJs - I have been feeling a bit down lately and decided to do a little lunch-time shopping to cheer myself up and thought I would share my haul with you all, since I got some really great kits and some awesome freebies!
First, I headed to Macy's to take advantage of their Clinique gift with purchase offer (which I posted in BPJ here: http://teamsugar.com/group/88093/blog/2348238 ) I bought the 7 day scrub cream, #2 Clarifying lotion and Extra Mild Liquid Facial Soap. So with those purchases (and free gift!) in the bag, I wandered over to Nordstrom's.

Today, I am lounging around my daughter and her fiances' "pad". We spent the day together yesterday, she made a great dinner, all appetizers and dips :feedme: and a great Sangria with peach flavor, pellegrino and blueberries and plum slices fruit garnish!!!
It is so neat to be enjoying her company - all that hard work of raising her is paying off LOL!!!

It's a party!
$: Southern Shindig
Nothing gets people's mouths watering like down-home cooking -- the main event at this party. Order takeout fried chicken and make all the fixings yourself, or fry up a batch of easier-to-cook chicken-fried steak.

I wish you all could see the rich color of my dress/ tunic because it's a dark green. I guess I should have taken the picture earlier in the day. This dress/ tunic is so much fun though.

Auditioning for American Idol: Priceless
Although I was "passed on" by 2 (obviously deaf) producer/judges this year at the American Idol Auditions in Miami, it for sure was an experience to remember.
I met some great people in line, had tons of laughs, got a tan, sat on beaches I had never seen, swam in the Atlantic Ocean, saw Ryan Seacrest up close (wears more makeup than me), had a really great Sangria (or 2 or 3) as a consolation drinky drink after the harsh rejection and overall found that I love Miami!
On audition day, we headed to the Arena and waited outside for about 3 and a half hours while the producers got the crowd shots they needed for the opening sequence of the Miami episodes.

My son, Mantrell Jr. (bka Fozzy) was born on the fourth of July in 2006. We celebrated his first birthday in the evening on Saturday July 7 in our backyard. The title of the party was "The Day Fozzy Landed on One" and the theme was Space Aliens.
