LAST summer, Lisa Clark, a management consultant from Los Angeles, spent about three weeks in Europe, touring Scotland by car, spending a weekend in Paris and biking in Tuscany. Though it wasn’t cheap (France and Italy cost roughly $4,300 alone) Ms. Clark made it work by using frequent flier miles to get there and by buying packaged tours to keep her expenses contained.

Is there a DJ in the house? Lenzr is looking for party people and photographers that have plenty of homemade bonanze images and can spare some shots of people getting crazy out behind their homes.
Backyard Party Events is a photo contest on Lenzr that's perfect for the little people who host their own good times at home, and those friends with neighbours types that gather on weekends around backyard BBQs, croquet, red rover, lawn darts and go dancing on plywood or Masonite dancefloors under shady trees.

Upon the earth in fine displays.
She softly sways the apple trees
As songbirds sing sweet melodies.
Summer wears a flower flock
Of goldenrod and hollyhock.

The big family trip or summer vacation serves as an escape from work, school and, in some instances, New Jersey. For many this year, it just isn't happening.
Cross-state and cross-country journeys by car are being truncated to day trips, and account-draining excursions abroad are being reconsidered by those bearing the brunt of increases in daily costs, such as gas and food.
