Nothing says Grammys like a good party – unless it's a week full of them. The biggest names in music and Hollywood are expected to turn out at a string of galas starting Wednesday and going until the wee hours after the awards show Sunday, and PEOPLE has all the details:
Grammy Night
Following the awards telecast from L.A.'s Staples Center on CBS, winners, losers and thousands of others head to the official Grammy Celebration next door, where Wolfgang Puck serves up the food. Across the street, Jamie Foxx will welcome more than 500 guests to his private party at the Conga Room at L.A.

Every weekend I have this little obsession of browsing through the recipes of Bon Appetit, Gourmet, Martha Stewart & Sunset magazines in search for a little inspiration or a recipe that is unique and fun. This Sunday I had a hankering for something Fall, Halloween themed and Sassy. Something that I could easily ship to work to feed my coworkers and something that I could add a personal twist too.

We imagine famous photographer Steven Klein doesn’t open up his private horse farm estate in Bridgehampton for just anybody or any cause. As such, it was an A-List crowd that turned out for the AIDS Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA), Calvin Klein and Vanity Fair “Cocktails at Sunset” charity benefit this past Saturday (July 18).
Along with Vogue star Lauren Santo Domingo, beauty guru Olivia Chantecaille and Zani Gugelmann all sported simple and sleek Calvin Klein.

Kirk Douglas (born Issur Danielovitch December 9, 1916) is an Academy Award-nominated American actor and film producer known for his cleft chin, his gravelly voice and his recurring roles as the kinds of characters Douglas himself once described as "sons of bitches". Matthew McConaughey proposed to his girlfriend (and mother of his son) hours after she gave birth, according to the National Enquirer. They say that after he held his son for the first time he wanted to get married. Which makes a lot of sense; I’m sure it’s a very emotional experience.

Somehow Star Magazine secured a maybe-exclusive interview with Jennifer Aniston in which she promotes Marley & Me, her upcoming dog-centered film with Owen Wilson. The movie is not scheduled for release until Christmas, so I’m kind of perplexed why she’s talking about it now to a gossip magazine. Star has actual quotes from Aniston, it’s written out like an interview and there are no “insiders” or “onlookers” mentioned, so we can assume it’s legitimate.

Q&A with Tom Carter, author of CHINA: Portrait of a People
American photojournalist Tom Carter has spent the past four years in the People’s Republic of China, traversing all 33 provinces and autonomous regions not just once but twice. The San Francisco native’s hardback book, a definitive 800-image volume aptly entitled CHINA: Portrait of a People, is due out this winter from Hong Kong publisher Blacksmith Books. Tom took a day off from travelling to discuss the challenges of taking pictures in China, how he evaded censorship in the tightly-controlled republic, and to share a few insider tips on visiting what is to become the world’s largest tourism market.

Vanity Fair canceled their Oscar party a month ago. This was a huge deal in Hollywood, as that party was THE party of the Oscars. It was very “seen and be seen.” Say that in a snooty voice and you get the picture.

A City Committed to Recycling Is Ready for More
By FELICITY BARRINGER
Published: May 7, 2008
SAN FRANCISCO — Mayor Gavin Newsom is competitive about many things, garbage included. When the city found out a few weeks ago that it was keeping 70 percent of its disposable waste out of local landfills, he embraced the statistic the way other mayors embrace winning sports teams, improved test scores or declining crime rates.
The San Francisco Recycling Center processes about 750 tons of recyclables a day, and Mayor Gavin Newsom wants to add to that total.

L.A.'s Chateau Marmont became a hot new couple's hang-out on Friday night when Cameron Diaz and Gerard Butler joined Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal for a late-night bite.
The foursome, who appeared to be the best of friends, enjoyed red wine and appetizers on the patio, according to Life & Style magazine.
A bystander says, "Cameron and Gerard held hands under the table, but Reese and Jake were slightly less affectionate -- they called it a night at 3 a.m., about 30 minutes after Cameron and Gerard left."
