Update
This is my vanilla extract after three months. Although it was already this dark after just two months, I just never got around to taking a picture. :lazy: I've used it several times and it's amazing!

Mexican "Vanilla" With Coumarin: No Bargain
http://www.fda.gov/consumer/updates/mexicanvanilla102908.html
Tourists tempted to pick up bargains south of the border should beware of one bargain that isn't always a good buy—so-called Mexican "vanilla." This flavoring product may smell like vanilla, taste like vanilla, and be offered at a cheap price. But it's often made with coumarin, a toxic substance banned in food in the United States.

on my last grocery trip i splurged a little and bought vanilla beans. i’ve been dying to experiment with them, but at just under $20 for two beans i was a bit hesitant. that’s a lot of money gone to waste for anything less than the spectacular.

1/3 cup butter, or stick of margarine (softened)
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 ounces baking chocolate, melted. So this is about 3 individually wrapped squares!

I just bought this shampoo & conditioner because I *love the scent of vanilla. It is cruelty free, which is another reason for the purchase. Anyway I have used it for a week and it is wonderful.

I've been meaning to do this for awhile now and I've simply never gotten around to it or completely forgotten. But, anyway, I'm a big fan of using simple, around the house stuff in my own beauty routine. I've researched ideas on the internet, browsed through books, and finally, I've come up with a fairly comprehensive list of all sorts of different beauty recipes, tips, and whatnots.
