Along with the birthday cake and balloons, there's another reason mommies are jubilant on a child's first birthday — milk! When babes reach their 1-year mark, it most often means they can start chugging cow's milk instead of formula or in addition to breast milk. Like I said, life's a musical once you bring home babe, but song writing isn't a pen and paper type activity. Petro Zillia's Spring 2008 line sheet explaining all the runway looks also included a fun little bit about life in LA; the list was deemed "10 Ways you Know You're SO LA." It kept me entertained before the show began and made me realize that I'm so not LA (out of 30 possibilities, I only semi-identified with a few). We thought it would be fun to share so you can figure out if you're SO LA.

I find the Olympic Games inspiring and want to get out and try everything, except the vault because that just seems suicidal. Unfortunately, I don't have the height for basketball or the speed for sprinting (even though I have been doing my sprint intervals almost weekly). Sam Callan, an exercise physiologist and the coaching education manager for USA Cycling, stresses the importance of knowing your body type when dreaming of gold deciding what fitness avenue to take.

I was inside an inflatable house and didn't know if I could make it up the climbing wall with a bunch of kids bouncing around me, but it's not because I was too lil, it's because I was too big. But my two kids were relying on me, so I pulled myself up and dragged them along until we reached the top and flew down the slide. It's funny — you spend your formative years at the playground and then take a very long hiatus before motherhood plops you right back in the sandbox.
