In what could be the strangest morsel of food news this week, a Virginia man named Chris Coleson has lost 86 pounds since December by eating nothing but McDonald's. Aspiring to be the Mickey D's equivalent of Subway's Jared, Coleson ate a "diet" consisting of McDonald's "salads, wraps, apple-walnut salads, and the occasional cheeseburger."
McDonald's isn't planning to sign Coleson as a spokeperson (oddly, the company has Heidi Klum endorsing its wraps in Germany).

Have you heard about the Twilight diet? At first I thought it was a term Twilighters — aka die-hard Twilight fans — used to describe their voracious appetites for all things Edward and Bella — books, movies, pictures, life-size Robert Pattinson cutouts — but it's actually related to food. Twilight vernacular is everywhere, even in the world of health and fitness.

Researchers found that in the 1940s, women were twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with MS. By 2000, women were about four times more likely than men to develop MS.

There are a few reasons why you might find yourself in a fast food restaurant, two of them being cost and convenience. Whether you're in a rush, looking to save money, or simply have a hankering for fast food, know that some of the big menu options are better than others.
The Cancer Project surveyed the largest fast food chains in the US to come up with a list of what the initiative has deemed the five unhealthiest items.

Michael Phelps may be getting a much-deserved break after making history at the Summer Olympics, but you can rest assured that his huge grin and hot body aren't going anywhere anytime soon. He's been jonesing for a Big Mac since his final swim, and yesterday Michael spent some of his 10,000 calorie diet on lunch at McDonald's with some of his pint-sized fans. Today it was back to showing off that beach bod with his fellow swimmers in Beijing, and he looked pretty happy to take a break from all of those skintight suits and rock the board shorts for a change.

A growing epidemic, childhood obesity is an issue for many American families. Fast food chains make it easy for parents to grab meals on the go, and the low price points of sugary drinks and dollar menus make them irresistible to those on a budget. But, that won't keep the major brands from advertising to your tots or paying big time faces to promote their product.

Recent statements made by Prince Charles, heir to the British throne, on banning McDonald's has gotten the company who coined the term happy meal, well, unhappy. McDonald's claims that the future king must not have noticed all the efforts they are making toward building a healthier menu and supporting sustainable agriculture. (I can't say I've noticed the latter either, but still).
