I've always been taught not to show up to a party, dinner party, luncheon — you name it — empty handed. It seems like a pretty easy thing to do, just bring flowers, a box of candy, a bottle of wine, or some other treat along with you. It also always seemed to me, the right thing to do, since wherever I was headed, I was being entertained, someone was making dinner for me, or providing apps and drinks.

As evidenced in my holiday TV sneak peek, this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy puts the doctors on a fast track that starts on Thanksgiving eve and runs through New Year's Eve. The trend of naming cell phones something catchy is pretty great — it's so much easier than remembering some crazy combination of letters and numbers.
However, sometimes the cell phone companies get a little out of hand with the clever names, and the nom de plumes don't exactly sound like tech marvels (as is the case with Samsung's toiletry-sounding names and LG's Hitchcockian names).
Today's source of confusion is Samsung again — can you guess which of these are cell phones, and which are the names of energy drinks?

Tuesday night's soapy dramas packed several surprises into this week's episodes — 90210 introduces a whole new character to love (or hate) and Sasha drops a bomb on Dixon; while over on Melrose, Riley and Jonah's seemingly perfect relationship is quickly unraveling. But the biggest surprise of all? Ella was nice.

Ellen DeGeneres is one of my favorite comedians, and this monologue is too funny not to share. It's about one of womanity's common bewildering experiences — polish selection during a manicure. Ellen's right about the surfeit of polish colors, and I've poked fun at some ridiculous names in my quizzes.

There's a ton of energy boosting stuff out there — drinks, bars, gels, and chews, to name a few. Now there's D-Mix, an energy elixir that tries to set itself apart by billing itself as the "world's first customizable energy elixir." D-Mix comes in coffee and mint flavors and is a concentrated liquid serum, which, according to the website, you can pump into just about anything.
