His designing daughter Stella is strict vegetarian, and now Sir Paul McCartney is hoping we will all be vegetarian one day a week as well.
The former Beatle hosted a luncheon to kick off Britain's Meat Free Monday campaign. There are obvious health benefits to reducing your meat intake, but Paul became involved because of the environmental impact of limiting meat consumption as well.

It's National Riesling week and while you could enjoy a discount on European Riesling at a number of restaurants in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and Las Vegas, you can just as easily celebrate by sipping a bottle in the comforts of your own home. I highly recommend my current Riesling of choice, the 2007 Schloss Schönborn Estate Riesling. It's a juicy, drinkable white with a slight sweetness.

Diabetes is a chronic (long-term) condition marked by abnormally high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood. People with diabetes either do not produce enough insulin -- a hormone that is needed to convert sugar, starches and other food into energy needed for daily life -- or cannot use the insulin that their bodies produce. As a result, glucose builds up in the bloodstream.

Drug Warning
Chemotherapy can cause anemia, a drop in red blood cell (hemoglobin) levels. Erythropoiesis-stimulating drugs, which boost the production of red blood cells, are administered to counteract this complication. However, these drugs, which include epoietin alfa (Epogen, Procrit) and darbepoietin alfa (Aranesp), can also cause serious side effects and adversely affect survival when hemoglobin levels are raised too high.

Lead is a very strong poison. When a person swallows a lead object or inhales lead dust, some of the poison can stay in the body and cause serious health problems. A single high, toxic dose of lead can cause severe emergency symptoms.
