Ceviche is a cool and delicious dish in which raw fish is marinated in fresh citrus juice. The acid of the juice "cooks" the fish until it is firm and plump. It's a wonderful Summer course that can be served as an appetizer with tortilla chips or placed atop a bed of greens as an entree.

It may be the dead of Winter, but this past weekend, San Francisco felt like pure Summer, with clear skies and balmy temperatures. I decided to celebrate with a drink that couldn't be more appropriate: the Caipirinha.
This drink, is made with limes, as well as a special liquor called achaça, which incidentally happens to be the national liquor of Brazil.

Upon my early morning arrival the first time I visited Buenos Aires, I begged my sister to take me to a decent cafeteria, where I immediately ordered a cortado. Along with the espresso came a small but delicious sandwich cookie. My sister explained that this cookie, the "alpha whore," was as ubiquitous in South America as chocolate chip cookies are in the US.

For the last 22 years, foreign citizens living with HIV or AIDS have been forbidden to legally enter the US. As of Monday, that ban will be a thing of the past. On Friday, President Obama announced the decision to overturn the policy he called "rooted in fear rather than fact."

In honor of Pico's birth at Vienna's Schoenbrunn zoo, let's test your knowledge on sea lions. I'm familiar with the noisy California sea lions near San Francisco, but I've never seen a Patagonian sea lion in its natural habitat. While I phone my travel agent, go ahead and take this quiz!

Tis the season for new ad campaigns as head designers and their muses line up the best photographers and get snapping for Spring 2010. Earlier this week, I told you that Natalia Vodianova looks likely to be the star of the new Yves Saint Laurent campaign, and now I can reveal another as Claudia Schiffer bags Chanel.
The London based supermodel flew to Argentina last week with Karl Lagerfeld to begin shooting the Spring campaign along with Argentine model Iván de Pineda, Freja Beha Erichsen and, of course, Baptiste Giacobini.
