Philippe Starck has never let me down before. In fact, I pretty much fall asleep every night by counting his Louis Ghost Chairs. But the Tooth Stool (price unlisted), which he designed for Saint Martins Lane Hotel, is too much of a mouthful for me.

I love the look of the Sundance Catalog's Midcentury Studio Stool ($245). The varnished raw steel has an understated, industrial look that seems as fitting for a bistro or bar counter as a kitchen or home office. At 27 inches tall and 17 inches wide, they're also a great size — big enough but not too hefty.

This Foldable Wooden Camp Stool ($12.50) is topped with a fun, peony printed oilcloth that would brighten up any blah corner, and it comes in four different color choices. It might not be the most comfortable stool on the block, but it would be adorable topped with a small tray or some cheeky coffee table books. No need to try match it to your current décor: just embrace the bold pattern as is.

Hi CasaSugar!
I am working on wrapping up my living room and would love to get a petrified wood stool and a ceramic white stool similar to those in Monique Lhuillier's house (that I am totally in love with), which was featured on an Elle Decor cover a year ago.
I've talked to Hudson Furniture in New York — they have the petrified wood but they sell at $1,200-2,000 each.

Garden stools have gotten pretty popular over the last few years, and they don't seem to be losing their cool. Many, though, are absurdly overpriced. I don't want you to fall into that trap because I have also seen plenty of affordable ones.

For obvious reason, I return again and again to the interiors from Sex and the City. Each SATC lady had her own flair and personal style, and each woman's apartment illustrated this. Right now, I'm loving confident, modern interiors, so I took a look back at Samantha Jones's digs.

With Spring on my mind, I can't help but be attracted to this Neiman Marcus Cane Garden Stool ($220), which brings to mind a latticed garden archway. This one's less than half the price of the crave worthy stool I featured recently and opens up top as storage for your outdoor (or indoor) essentials. Its hand-painted woven pattern is very Dorothy Draper, I must say, and would sparkle in any modern-day prepster interior.
