Since Winter is in full force, getting fresh produce can not only be tough, but even if you can find it, it's usually pretty pricey. That combined with the bad economy makes frozen veggies a great option. You can use them in soups, pasta dishes, for pizza toppings, or in stir-fries.

Our moms didn't push vegetables on us for nothing. They knew that not only are veggies like carrots, Brussels sprouts, and sweet potatoes full of vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, but they're also low in calories and fat. These days, rather than avoiding them, I crave veggies because I realize how much better I feel after a meal of salad versus a huge bowl of fettuccine alfredo.

Are you sticking to foods that are mostly white like bread and pasta? Or are you chowing down on a lot of orange foods such as carrots and sweet potatoes? When it comes to eating a balanced diet full of nutrients, don't just stick to one color.
