Everyone has their favorite foods and beverages, including pop stars. Only, unlike the rest of us, pop stars can demand to have these items waiting for them in their dressing rooms. Whether it's Oreos, 10 pounds of carrots or Cristal, the stars get what they ask for.

Backstage at the Harriet's Muse show, yesterday at London Fashion Week, internationally renowned makeup artist Rachel Wood was working her magic on the models. The inspiration behind the graphic, cartoon makeup looks was Hollywood screen siren meets Disney.
"I wanted to do Audrey Hepburn eyes and Marilyn Monroe lips" Rachel told me "but as though Disney was doing a cartoon version of them."

The Penkov girl is a Barbarella Sci-Fi fantasy this season. At the Spring/Summer 2009 London Fashion Week show, the girls wore white structured chiffon shifts with high gladiator sandals and swingy hair. Ultra-soft fabrics and sophisticated cuts were combined with traditional craftsmanship for a collection that cleverly integrated hard white porcelain accessories made into decorative body armour.

Boasting a star-studded front row that included Alexa Chung, Kimberley Stuart and Peaches and Pixie Geldof; the PPQ show last night featured bright prints, full skirts and high-waist shorts topped off with black net hats and square sunglasses.

Swathes of chiffon and artful draping made for a feminine yet bold collection for La Perla, at Milan Fashion Week. Head to toe colours ranging from black to white, cream, aqua and lilac were given subtly frou frou touches with lace, ruffled hems and lots of asymmetric necklines. The hair was tousled and full, while makeup was gleaming and natural.

At the Jenny Packham show artfully folded tulle and delicately ruffled chiffon was encrusted with multi-coloured crystals for a show-stopping effect. The colours ranged from bright fuschia to orange, lilac, cerise and dusky pink. Whilst Packham's collections are always on the wearable side of glamour, there was a definite hint of 80's debutante in the short, fitted shapes and bright makeup.

Nicole Farhi showed a typically beautiful spring/summer collection this morning at the Royal Opera House. Faded floral dresses and print skirts had a 70's Laura Ashley appeal, whilst brightly coloured cotton shorts and skinny belts kept the look modern.
The beauty look was classic English rose with flushed cheeks, glowing skin and peony pink to pillar box red lips.

Lace-inspired knits, barely-there chiffon and light-as-air folds, ruffles and pleats gave the John Rocha show an unassuming air of femininity, contrasted with strong shapes and a palette that was anchored in black. The models looked like other-worldly ballerinas with uniform top knots and buns secured with multiple, visible kirby grips. Samantha Hillerby created a hair look that appeared slightly unfinished, as though the girls were still backstage.
