When I go to a barbecue, I rarely eat a hamburger without cheese, or a hot dog without ketchup. The condiments and fixings just make the meal, don't they? They problem is they aren't void of calories, fat, or sodium, so take this little quiz to see how they measure up.

You may feel like Summer is already almost over, but there's still plenty of time to get in some quality food festivals. This week, that would include the classic Taste of Chicago (full of reliable Windy City staples like the Rainbow Cone and Vienna Beef hot dogs), the Naperville Ribfest (hands-down, the best ribfest I have ever been to), and the ultimate celebration of tart cherries, the National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, MI. For those of you who can't attend one of the food festivals below, just remember: every 4th of July party is, indirectly, a celebration of food in itself.

Much like last year, Bobby Flay was scheduled to cook at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen last Friday. Although you may believe blueberries taste best eaten out of hand or in a scrumptious dessert, don't discount them in savory dishes until you've tried them. If you've never used blueberries in a sauce before, start with a straightforward recipe.
This one pairs just-grilled chicken cutlets with a fresh salsa made of blended blueberries, cilantro, basil, and, of course, jalapeños for a sweet-hot kick.

It's also packed with events that honor all of the pleasures of Summer, from peaches, blueberries, and watermelon to ribs, RC cola, and moon pies. But that's not all: this Friday marks the acclaimed Aspen Food & Wine Classic, which we're so excited to be returning to this year.

Healthy yet hearty, quick-cooking but also succulent, pork chops are perfect for a lazy Sunday evening, and fit right into your Summer schedule when grilled and served alongside a crispy, Asian-influenced slaw.
Make fire-roasted pork chops that are tender enough to taste like a million bucks, but won't cost you anything close to that. Look for bone-in pork chops at the store to get added flavor and value.
