2009 MTV EMA Nominations and Performers Announced!

Having already given us the shortlist for the Best UK & Ireland New Act category, MTV has now announced the full list of nominations for the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. Tokio Hotel, Green Day and Leona Lewis are all confirmed to perform at the ceremony in Berlin on 5 November too. Lady GaGa and Kings of Leon lead the pack with five nominations each, while several of our British and Irish stars have nominations, including Robbie Williams, Coldplay, U2, La Roux, Pixie Lott, Little Boots and Leona Lewis. You can vote for your favourites and then see all the pictures and find out gossip from backstage when we cover the awards in November. Last year's ceremony was awesome, so I'm looking forward to the the show and the red carpet this year. What do you think of the nominations? See the full list after the jump.

Fergie Keeps It Short and Sweet

Fergie headed out to a LA recording studio in a black romper yesterday before getting fancy for an event with her band. She was in another short number at the launch party for her fellow Black Eyed Pea apl.de.ap's new record label, Jeepney Music. It's been a busy Summer for Fergie with all her work promoting their new album, but for now at least she can enjoy being at home with her husband Josh after his travels on behalf of Transformers 2.

2009 Teen Choice Awards: The Show and Backstage!

After the stars had all had their photos taken outside in the sun, they all headed indoors to check out the 2009 Teen Choice Awards show and find out all the winners. Miley performed as well as hosted, as did the Jonas Brothers and the Black Eyed Peas. Joe Jonas got into a bit of a hairy situation when Mike Tyson came onstage to cut his hair! Cameron Diaz, Megan Fox, Robert Pattinson, Ed Westwick, Kristen Bell, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Ellen DeGeneres and Hugh Jackman were among the many many stars to grace the stage, and check out Fab and Bella's polls about the event!

Fergie Joins Bradley and the Boys at Men's Fashion Week

Bradley Cooper traveled from LA to France, and the first item on his agenda was the Louis Vuitton menswear show yesterday afternoon. He was joined by Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas, as they struck a few poses outdoors before heading inside to check out the presentation. Bradley seems to be upping his fashion game after appearing at the Costume Gala, and a front row seat at the Paris shows should help continue his education.

Rihanna Parties With the Peas and Gets Subpoenaed

Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas hosted an album-release party last night in NYC. Rihanna apparently looked cozy at the soiree with rumored new flame Aubrey "Drake" Graham after he recently denied any romance. She happily mingled with the band, amid news she has officially been subpoenaed to testify at Chris Brown's June 22 hearing. Kanye West is rolling solo after his break up with Amber Rose, but the two apparently still see each other quite a bit. Regardless of all the drama going on in these singers' lives, there's nothing like celebratory party with friends to help everyone unwind and have fun.

What to Download: New Music Today

Tuesdays are big in entertainmentville: not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores. So I take a spin through each week's music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. In addition to my picks below, you can also get the new Sonic Youth album now.

Start the party: Most of you said you prefer Fergie when she's singing with the Black Eyed Peas, so you may be excited that the group's new album hits stores today. I've always had a love-hate relationship with this group. Sometimes the Peas' catchy music gets me jazzed for a jog or gets me dancing at a party. Other times I flip off the radio when one of the group's hit songs comes on for the billionth time. But in the face of the straightforward lyrics on the new album - like "Tonight's the night night/Let's live it up/I got my money/Let's spend it up," from the new single "I Gotta Feeling" - I have to just smile. Resistance is futile.

More Mos Def: I didn't even need a full listen through Mos Def's fourth album, The Ecstatic, to get excited about it. As one reviewer describes its achievements: "Mos is brimming with poetry again, hurling politically charged lyrics like lightning bolts against the thunderous beats behind him." So far, I'm digging "Auditorium" and "Life in Marvelous Times."
