Here's the scenario: you are at home and hungry. You have to cook up something scrumptious for you and your boyfriend/girlfriend/ spouse/child/friend, but have limited ingredients on hand.
You have eggs, fresh chives, and a new pepper-mill filled with black peppercorns.

Last week I told you about the ESPN reporter who accidentally ate the world's hottest pepper. I shared it because I thought it was a fun food tid-bit, but little did I know that November is actually National Pepper Month! We've already got the funny part of hot peppers out of the way, so now I thought I'd test your knowledge.

Last night, the soup I made was a little off in the seasonings. I'm pretty sure it's because my new kitchen doesn't have a pepper grinder! My kitchen is far from being complete, but I can't function one more day without freshly ground black pepper.

Last night was the first night I felt settled into my new apartment. By settled I mean I finally unpacked my kitchen! Desperate to learn my way around the new kitchen, I decided to treat myself to a delicious and tasty meatloaf sandwich.

Do You Cook With Freshly Ground Black Pepper?
Yes always, I even have a fabulously chic grinder.
Only when the recipe calls for freshly ground pepper.

Black pepper comes from the berries of the pepper plant which are picked and then left to dry (that's why they look all shriveled up). Black pepper, green pepper, and white pepper actually come from the same plant - the different colors represent different stages in development.
Black pepper stimulates the taste buds in such a way that it alerts your stomach to increase hydrochloric acid secretion, therefore improving digestion - consuming pepper can prevent heartburn and indigestion.

Recently, I made my yearly — OK, it's been more than a year — trip to the eye doctor. I've worn glasses for about 14 years now, and from one "trendy" frame to another, I've had lots of different looks. Since some were good, and others I'd prefer to forget, that was the inspiration behind this series of posts on choosing eyeglass frames.
