This photo, from David Giles's portfolio, is breathtakingly pretty. From the baby blue cooking range to the precious mama and babe, it just speaks of domestic bliss. But my favorite idea from the photo is, by far, the idea of using old enamel coffee pots to display fresh cut flowers.

While away last week, I found myself in a pinch. The kids were suds up in the hotel tub, but I hadn't packed the pitcher I normally use to rinse them off.
After a quick look at my options — a ceramic mug, a wastebasket, and an ice bucket, I grabbed the 4-cup coffee pot and got to pouring.

Whether it's an aunt or an uncle, seems like everyone has a coffee addict on their holiday shopping list. My coffee addict doesn't actually need any other gadgets — although the Bravi Home Coffee Bean Roaster would probably be well received — so I'm opting for a monthly coffee subscription from Blue Bottle Coffee Co. If your coffee addict has enough java to last a lifetime, treat him or her to a book like I Love Coffee!

I stopped by Flora Grubb the other morning to grab some delicious Ritual coffee and to check out the amazing garden store for inspiration and ideas. Before picking up a gorgeous spear-like Sansaveria, I wandered around the gardens, taking in all of the beautiful plants. I was particularly taken with the way Flora Grubb had reimagined this classic car.

As a city with so much personality and penchant for possibility, it's no surprise that the follow-up to Paris, Je t'aime heads to New York. New York, I Love You is a tale of the connections and personal missteps that occur every single day in the city that never sleeps. It plays out like a movie version of a song mash-up: some story lines are linear and independent of the rest while other characters wander in and out of each other's lives.

Glass vases are chic and timeless, but sometimes you need to stir things up a bit. And when you've used every old coffee pot and vessel you can think of, look to your kitchen or garden. Real Simple looked at a head of cabbage with an inventive eye, and decided to use it as a centerpiece.

This kitteh is so little that he fits in tiny drawers and (my favorite) a small coffee pot! Forget the silly LOL cat intertitles and keep your eye on kitty. If you can find him.
