My favorite recipe for chili is loaded with beef, takes several hours to make, and is definitely not a quick, simple weeknight super. This recipe, on the other hand, is ideal for nights when I crave the comfort of a hearty chili but don't have the time to slave at the stove.
Since it uses ground turkey and turkey sausage, it's a healthier variation, too.

My girlfriends are always asking for recipe recommendations, but they have pretty high demands. They usually want something that's effortless, delicious, healthy, comforting, and inexpensive all at the same time. Thankfully, with the help of one reader, I know what my next suggestion will be.

This weekend was nothing but rain and the perfect time for comfort food. Browsing through Tyler Florence's Dinner at My Place, I found myself drooling over a whole roasted chicken recipe. Since the weather was bad, I didn't want to leave the house, thus I improvised his recipe with items I already had on hand.

During rainy season, which is happening in the Bay Area as we speak, I'm forever trying to cure a sense of bone-chilling dampness. Right now, my favorite way to fend off the cold is with a rich, steaming hot platter of beef stroganoff. It can either be fast and easy, or the picture of slowly cooked succulence.

Classic chicken pot pie gets a modern makeover in this delicious, uncomplicated dish. If you have a hard time working with difficult-to-roll-out pastry dough, you're in luck; this recipe eliminates the dough, instead topping the filling with white country bread.
Rotisserie chicken, pre-sliced mushrooms, and frozen peas are time-saving ingredients that make this variation a cinch.

From pickled jalapeños to chipotle chile chocolate bars, I love spicy food, but if I were forced to pick a favorite, I'd have to go with spicy buffalo chicken. Not only is it the ultimate comfort food, but the tender chicken is also crispy, zippy, and tangy all at once.
Whether you're looking for the perfect Super Bowl party platter or you simply want something to fulfill your quest for spice, look no further than these buffalo chicken recipes.

Last Sunday I caught a Barefoot Contessa marathon on Food Network where one recipe stood out in my mind. So much that I went straight to the store to purchase the ingredients and made it that evening for dinner. The recipe was for roasted tomato soup with fresh basil.
