Kitschy mugs have never been my thing. However, when I saw these porcelain Postcups ($50) by Bailey Doesn't Bark, I thought they would make a fun Valentine's Day gift. The microwave-safe, handle-less mugs can even be engraved with a personal message.

A friend of mine, who fits the classification of hipster to a T, also happens to love all things gourmet. Initially, I was at a loss for what to get her, but I quickly discovered that there's an array of niche gift items that converge at the juncture of food, music, and cutting-edge cool. Case in point: I have to get her this book about underground dining, and because she loves to push the envelope, I know she'll flip for this shopping bag.

The other day I came across this random cup that made me do a double take. At first glance, I thought it was full of egg yolk, but then I noticed the squatting female and started to laugh.

While reusable containers are always best, sometimes, when you're throwing a big party, it's hard to get around the use of disposable cups. But now there's a better option.
This past weekend I attended a wedding for a bride and groom who are really eco-sensitive, so I was surprised to see plastic cups on the bar.

Artist Hrafnkell Birgisson has created these adorable champagne glasses. Or are they adorable tea cups? Either way I love them and want them.
