Now a hamster's hardly an exotic pet in my mind but, according to a recent report from the American Academy of Pediatrics, children under the age of five shouldn't own any exotic animals – including those furry rodents!
Turns out lizards, tiny turtles, lil chicks, and even hamsters can transmit Salmonella to kiddies. Now, it's hard for me to figure out where the "under five" comes in, but the study says it's due in part to the fact that they often touch animals then touch their mouths, kiss creatures, or don't wash their hands after coming in contact with the pets.

It's no surprise that I love baby animals, but I wouldn't want to just wake up one morning to a slew of new pets! Especially since I recall a childhood pal who went from having Roxy and Foxy to having five Guinea Pigs – quite a mysterious result when her mom (thought she) had purchased two girl pets – and how sad we were when her parents told her she could only keep one baby.
Now, I never gave "fixing" much thought in the scenario but a recent article brought this practice to my attention.

Lately I have been posting common side recipes that can be paired with roast dishes and hearty meats. Today I decided it's time we spice things up a bit (we are after-all in the middle of January) and instead of making a normal, classic side I suggest we make an exotic, fresh tabbouleh. Tabbouleh (pronounced tub-boo-lei) is an Arab salad made of cracked wheat combined with finely chopped vegetables such as tomatoes, parsley, or onion.

Step into the rain forest and you will find exotic felines, some Wild Things, and dangling jungle legs. I'm talking about leaf-, animal-, and reptilian-print leggings – are you game? I know, these leggings are kinda crazy, but ridiculously fun, too.
