Back in April, McDonald's announced plans to add a premium Angus burger to its fast-food lineup. The burger, priced at $3.99, would compete with other higher-end fast-food burgers such as Carl's Jr.'s Six Dollar Burger and Burger King's XT burger, and was scheduled to roll out nationwide by August. Well, July's barely begun, but yesterday the chain's Angus Third Pounders hit menus across the country.

If you were shocked by Audrina Partridge and Padma Lakshmi's lascivious Carl's Jr. commercials, then wait until you see what the company's up to now. Hardee's, the sister brand to Carl's Jr., has debuted "Biscuit Holes," deep-fried, doughnut hole-shaped biscuits that are iced with cinnamon sugar. To come up with a more creative moniker, however, Hardee's is asking customers for help through a new campaign titled "Name Our Holes."

Along the same lines, Pizza Hut has expanded its horizons, adding lasagna, pasta, and buffalo chicken to its lineup. But — contrary to public speculation — the fast food company will not be abbreviating its name.

Hoping to boost this year's sales — and prove that it's still "waaaay better than fast food" — fast food chain Wendy's has announced plans to unveil a new menu item, boneless chicken wings, later this month. The boneless wings — which will compete head to head with KFC's new Kentucky Grilled Chicken — come in three different flavors: Sweet & Spicy Asian, Honey BBQ, and Bold Buffalo. It's still debatable whether America's in the midst of a food revolution, but a growing number of the country's biggest corporations are focused on promoting natural and local ingredients.
Late last week, McDonald's announced it will take part in a study in conjunction with animal welfare groups, academics, and egg suppliers that compares battery cage-dwelling hens to free-range hens. The following day, Wendy's proclaimed that two percent of its egg purchases will now come from cage-free hens.

When we first found out Domino's was launching Bread Bowl Pastas, we were shocked — and so were you. While a few of you admitted to thinking they looked really good and conceded you'd eaten worse, many of you were entirely grossed out. "Completely awful," DCStar commented.

Oprah's KFC promotion for a free Kentucky Grilled Chicken meal has not only caused a lot of controversy, but sky-high demand also has KFC stores across the country turning away customers. In response, KFC president Rogert Eaton has taken a strikingly similar approach to Domino's by issuing an apology to patrons via YouTube. In exchange for the inconvenience customers have gone through, Eaton offers a raincheck for a grilled chicken meal, plus a free Pepsi.

The world of fast food is certainly quick paced, so the second Domino's begun advertising five flavors of pasta housed in a bread bowl, it seemed everybody was buzzing about it. When Party and I first got word of these monsters, we were simultaneously shocked (who came up with the concept?), appalled, and eager to try them. Yesterday turned out to be the Domino's day of reckoning — to find out how the bowls stood up to their shock value, read more
