We've received a bunch of emails lately about cooking for pets. The news of tainted pet food that sadly killed a bunch of beloved ones, and sickened many more, has gotten everyone clamoring for ways to make treats of their own. I don't actually own any pets (we're still working on asking the landlord to bend her no dogs policy), but can understand why this is a big concern.

- On September 28, 2007, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved a new brand of inactivated influenza ("flu") vaccine, Alfuria, for adults aged 18 years or older. This vaccine is given by injection.
- On September 19, 2007, the FDA approved the use of the live flu vaccine (FluMist) in healthy children as young as 2 years of age.

It must be totally awesome to be a dog right now! When I was a kid, dogs had to stick with their run of the mill dry and canned dog food in "yummy" flavors like liver, "meat," and chicken. But now there are all kinds of ways to spoil the tummies of your furry family.
