I remember it too clearly. I was 12 and my dad decided it was time I see one of his favorite scary movies: The Shining. I bring you one of my personal scariest movie scenes because BuzzSugar's scariest movie bracket comes down the The Shining and The Exorcist.

The idea of a reform school for girls seems to come straight out of a B-movie from the '50s, complete with stock characters like the naïve innocent, the hardened mean girl with a heart of gold who ends up plotting a way for them both to escape, and an evil warden who gets in their way. It's hard to believe that such a place could still exist.
Until August of this year, the notorious Beloit reform school for girls in Beloit, KS did exist, and the school, founded in the 1890s, only recently shut down because the state could no longer afford to house the remaining 21 girls to the tune of $200,000 a year.

Charlize Theron looked beautiful on the red carpet last night at ONEXONE's annual fundraiser in San Francisco. We chatted with David Arquette about Coco, after he spent the day at the food bank for Feeding America, and Jeremy Piven who had nothing but great things to say about Matt.

Halloween is all about light-hearted spookiness, but I'll tell you, I saw something shockingly scary at the grocery store — the labels on Halloween candy. Corn syrup, food coloring, and the worst, hydrogenated oil. Companies still use this type of trans fat even though we know it's been linked to heart problems, miscarriages, obesity, and belly fat.

It's World Vegetarian Month and many people are going meat-free for their health, but others are taking their diets to a whole new level — going raw. A raw food diet consists of consuming unprocessed, preferably organic, whole, plant-based foods, at least 75 percent of which should be uncooked.
A raw-food eater might enjoy uncooked veggies, fresh and dried fruits, nuts, seeds, seaweed, soaked dried beans, young coconut milk, and sprouted seeds and breads.

I hope you've been enjoying National Candy Month as much as we have - in addition to eating our candy, we've been baking with it and drooling over it too! If you need an excuse to celebrate, don't forget our I Heart Candy challenge. All you have to do is write a blog post about candy (and let us know about it)!
