Frito-Lay, the nation's biggest snack-food company, has announced plans to go local. Next Tuesday the Lay's brand of chips will roll out a new marketing strategy. Dubbed "Lay's Local," the campaign focuses on the 80 farms (scattered across 27 states) that grow the potatoes used to make the chips.

It's not unusual to find a 26-year-old who cites Andy Warhol as an inspiration or who thinks she can emulate Jackson Pollock. But, it's a rare thing to meet a young woman whose mixed media, Warhol-inspired pop art speaks of revolution in Spain, war crimes in Iraq, and human perishability, whose Pollock-inspired paintings give you chills. I recently caught up with the young São Paulo-born, Brazil-and-California-raised artist Daniela Cunha Lay at the opening of her exhibit at one of my favorite design stores in San Francisco, Flipp.

Looks like The Office is trying for a little economic relevance. While it sort of knocks you over the head this week — e.g. showing the Dow Jones sign — you can't blame the writers for making the story timely.

The big LA premiere of New Moon is this evening, and the film's stars all gathered there over the weekend to prep for the red carpet. As Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made their way back from their final press duties in Europe, Dakota Fanning and Ashley Greene were in California laying relatively low. Ashley joined a few friends for dinner at Beso on Saturday night, as her former mall tour buddy Kellan Lutz wrapped things up with Bronson Pelletier.
