One benefit to visiting exotic locales is trying different kinds of food, but our country also boasts lots of local specialties. When I roam the US, I'm obsessed with tasting the regional faves, whether it's Texas barbecue, regional hot dog varieties, or different types of sandwiches. What about you?

On Thursday in Los Angeles, Rob Kardashian, from E!'s reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, was spotted getting a manicure, pedicure and a neck and shoulder massage at a local salon. A lot of men feel that this kind of thing is just for the ladies, but I think it's great when guys groom their hands and toes.
Typically they just go for a buff job instead of getting any colour applied, but it keeps their cuticles and calluses smooth, and it also helps exfoliate their dry, scruffy feet.

Geppetto, the local shoe cobbler, and I have a very special relationship. See, I take my weathered, beat-up, neglected shoes to him and he magically turns them back into the beautiful creations they used to be before I exposed them to life's harsh elements. Such handiwork costs a pretty penny, but it's well worth it.

It's no secret that crafting has experienced a rebirth over the past few years. But there's a difference between the découpage magnets I make for my refrigerator and May Luk's handmade ceramic vases with antique-inspired illustrations. It's called skill.

The school bell's ringing, but are there enough teachers to adequately educate your child? That's the question many public school districts face as budget cuts have forced administrators to remove special ed teachers, aides and supplies from our kids' classrooms. The lack of funding has led many PTAs to ask families to contribute money to help maintain the staffing and supply levels that schools have grown accustomed to each year.Tax dollars are the traditional monetary resource for public school systems, but the lagging economy has emptied many municipalities' coffers.
