Here at the Sugar Network HQ, we tend to eat lunch really early. It's really fantastic in the sense that someone will come around and say, "Lunch is coming from here today, are you in?" You then decide whether you want in, place your order, hand over your money and a little while later lunch is on your desk!

I know that marketing in schools is nothing new, but a program in Australia is taking things to a new level. A program called Fashion Roll Call, which is sponsored in part by makeup brand NP Set Cosmetics, is touring all-girl schools around the country. Their goal is to educate girls in fashion and beauty industry careers by presenting a "lunch-time fashion parade" followed by makeup application tutorials taught by makeup artists who work for NP Set.

Once a beauty treat at lunchtime meant picking up some new nail varnish at Boots, now it means thread vein removal.
Spurred on by the sunny weather, an increasing number of women are having thermo-coagulation, a thread vein removal technique which uses microwaves to zap the unsightly veins.
A super-thin needle, which emits a microwave current, is inserted under the skin, in the problem area.

It took me a long time to realize that breakfast is one meal not to be compromised. Not only does it give me the energy to start my day, it revs up my metabolism, and keeps my hunger from spiking at lunchtime. If you ask me, those are three solid reasons to always eat breakfast.

I'm completely serious when I tell people that the Ferry Plaza farmers market is a major reason why I live in San Francisco — it would not be an overstatement to say that the first time I went there, it changed my view of eating. So I could barely contain my excitement when the market's organizer, the Center For Urban Education and Sustainable Agriculture, or CUESA, announced it would be instituting a Thursday farmers market with an emphasis on artisanal street food. I took a trip over during my lunch break to see what the hype was all about.
