Man Arrested for Attacking Girlfriend Over Macaroni

You may have heard of using your noodle, but what about losing your noodle? A man was arrested last Saturday after he assaulted his live-in girlfriend with a cooking pot because he was upset she made him macaroni for dinner.

According to the police report, Donald J. Jacobs Jr. of North Platt, NE, was angry when he discovered she made macaroni for him. In a fit of rage, Jacobs hit his girlfriend with a cooking pot, tossing the food across the house. The woman locked herself in a bathroom and called the police.

I can't imagine anyone getting upset about eating macaroni and cheese for dinner — it's one of my favorite foods. Do you find this piece of news bewildering?

As soon as I heard that Jack in the Box was debuting these Cheesy Macaroni Bites, I knew I had to try them. Macaroni and cheese is my favorite comfort food, and I love trying the latest flavor of any item to come out of the deep fryer.I almost had a heart attack when I learned what the calories were on this tiny snack, (although it could have been that my arteries were already filling up with saturated fat). Still, the petite wedges — with their gooey, cheesy interior and crispy, golden, battered exterior — were delicious. In the future, I think I'd have a hard time enjoying them without feeling sharp pangs of guilt. What do you think: Would you be able to enjoy them?

Burger King + Kraft = Mac n' Cheese To Go

I'm usually pretty good at math, but something about that equation looks off. Mac n' Cheese is not usually something I think of when I think of easy to eat, fast food. However we're apparently in new math territory because that equation is true. This week Burger King is offering Kraft-branded mac and cheese in test markets. Although it is meant for kids, it's not going to be marketed directly to kids, seems like the marketers are smart enough to know that adults like mac and cheese too.

The product will be shipped in frozen packages and then reheated in microwaves at Burger King. I guess it'll be nice to have the option, but headed to Burger King just for mac and cheese seems a bit crazy, especially since it's essentially microwaved food. Although it will be a microwaved product created specifically for Burger King.

So, have you seen mac and cheese at your Burger King? Would you buy it if you did?

Usually when I highlight cool stuff you have found in the Yum Market here on YumSugar, I always show cool products, interesting gadgets, and useful kitchen tools. Well, what about food? Ok I guess I do sometimes talk about chocolate but that doesn't really count. Chocolate is in a category of its own. Today I thought I'd share some of your favorite (non-chocolate) food items that you saved and displayed in the Yum Market. Wondering what's in these beautiful packages?? When I first saw them I was too. Adelaide found this great gift, which is actually cheesecake!! What Food Did You Eat Too Much of as a Kid?

When my dad was little he ate lots and lots of boxed macaroni and cheese. So much that now he can not touch macaroni and cheese in any way, shape, or form. It disgusts him and he refuses to eat it. He has the same sort of strong feelings of revulsion for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. While many people see these foods as comforting blasts from the past, to my father they are far from edible. So, I was wondering, is this a common occurrence? What food did you eat too much of as a kid?
