Kellogg's has acquired the trademarks and recipes of Mother's Cookies. The beloved maker of the childhood-favorite circus animal cookies filed for bankruptcy in early October. Now Kellogg's plans to bring the brand back and reintroduce Mother's most popular cookies.

- Plane Crash: Moments ago a DC-9 plane crashed into a residential neighborhood in the eastern Congo town of Goma. CNN is reporting at this moment, 78 have died in the crash.

President Bush recently said history would show that Kosovo's quest for independence to be "a correct move," adding that, "we believe it will bring peace." The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a phone call with Condoleezza Rice, "we underlined the dangerous consequences of such a step, which threatens the destruction of world order and international stability which have developed over decades."

Another one bites the dust. This week Grey's Anatomy took a break from the typical episode fodder, and instead we are treated to a whodunnit-style murder mystery when one of the doctors loses a patient in the midst of a crisis situation. We hear each doctor's story one by one, and when the cause of death is finally discovered someone is sent home.

The title of this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy says it all. Meredith finds herself between a rock and a hard place when her dad enters Seattle Grace in need of a liver transplant, and she's the only viable donor. Meanwhile, the Chief is still trying to navigate the merger, and Izzie continues to struggle with the transition from patient back to doctor.

This week on Grey's Anatomy, the doctors are (mostly) done grieving for George and have moved on to the newest preoccupation: the merger. With their jobs on the line, everyone can't get enough hospital time in as they fight off paranoia in the midst of a new batch of patients.

Monday was a doozy for economic news. In one fell swoop, several major global companies announced their plans to lay off thousands of workers. Collectively, the businesses plan to eliminate more than 65,000 jobs around the world.
