Next time you feel underappreciated, just make up an organization and give yourself a fake award! That's what Betty Lichtenstein did. The Connecticut "nurse" spent more than $2,000 for a dinner honoring herself as the Connecticut Nursing Association's "Nurse of the Year."

In marketing terms, a trend can't be declared until there is at least three of the same thing. Well, third times a charm and I am officially declaring waitresses dressed as "hot nurses" a trend. Back in December I told you about the Heart Attack Grill in Arizona - and now I can tell you about two new places in Asia.

Smartphones are a mother's best friend. From taking notes on the go, keeping track of appointments, or finding the nearest bathroom, there is little our fancy phones can't do for us. They can even keep tabs on baby's feeding habits.

Any new mom will tell you dealing with the logistics of feeding your baby are more important than how your breasts are costumed, but that doesn't solve the great nursing bra dilemma. Breastfeeding is as natural an act as anyone could possibly find, but some moms have a tough time feeding their children when they're out in public. While several shields have hit the market in recent years, none have done so quite as fashionably or discreetly as the Sophie Snuggler ($45).

Edie Falco's new show Nurse Jackie has not only won a place in my heart for its casting of Twilight's Peter Facinelli as another doctor, but for pushing the iPhone within the first five minutes of its first episode.
A patient in the ER tells Facinelli's character, "Doc you gotta get an iPhone," (watch the scene on Buzz). Somehow I don't think that Mac-loving Facinelli is averse to Apple products, but I'll keep watching Nurse Jackie to see if his onscreen counterpart does.

Definitely one of this year's furry animals that save the day, this cute mama dog got a couple Red Panda cubs (kits?) to care for after their own mother abandoned them soon after birth. She performed the perfunctory sniff-and-greet before welcoming the lil ones to nurse. See one more pic of how well they warmed up to the doggie when you read more
