After falling in love with his Texas accent and cowboyish ways on the first episode of Top Chef Masters, I was more than happy to RSVP to a special luncheon hosted by chef Tim Love at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen. Love spent the entire night before the lunch slow-roasting three whole animals — goat, lamb, and venison — over a mesquite wood grill. He applied a different technique and application to each one.

Pets may not countdown to their birthdays or dread passing years as they get older, but they can feel the love when you shower them with treats and attention on their special day. More than half of you say you whip out the party hats for your beloved's real birthday, which makes me feel better about the hoopla I put into planning my lil guy's big day. Preparing for a kitty soiree or puppy party?

For weeks I was looking forward to attending Serious Eats Great American Food and Music Fest at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. With big-name celebrity chefs like Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri, and the best of America's regional cuisine — Katz's pastrami sandwiches, Pink's hot dogs, Tony Luke's Philly cheesesteaks, etc. — it was sure to be a fabulous festival.

At female-centric events like baby showers or bachelorette parties, it's easy for cliques to form and cattiness to flourish. Recently, my sister attended a bridal shower where the majority of guests went to the same high school. However some girls, despite knowing my sister, were cold and unfriendly.

A friend of mine recently got married at a San Francisco restaurant with 25 close guests in attendance. The ceremony was held in a private room, and afterward, everyone sat down at one big table for a three-course dinner.
Since the couple threw together the "elopement" on short notice, they recruited friends to help; a friend and I were asked to do the flowers.

After embittered battles this year over Roquefort, beef, and Coca-Cola, France has decided it needs to show the rest of the world some love. Concerned that outsiders perceive two of France's top exports, wine and cheese, to be unapproachable, the French government, with the help of local producers, has agreed to spend $2.1 million to sponsor cocktail parties in 19 different countries. While many events around the globe will take place in large convention centers, the program in the US will be different.

On Tuesday March 31st, I helped create the look for Drink Me magazine's launch party at San Francisco's 15 Romolo. Since I conceptualized the decor for Drink Me's first party, they gave me full creative liability at the launch! The Alice in Wonderland theme was alcohol-centric, clean, and fun.

A couple of weeks ago FabSugar hosted a shopping event at Saks Fifth Avenue in San Francisco. The caterer of the party found a fun way to incorporate Sugar into the menu — they rimmed each of the champagne flutes with pretty pastel-colored sugar. The sugar wasn't flavored so it didn't affect the taste of the dry bubbly.
