Last Friday night, I went to the annual holiday book exchange party I've been attending for the past five years. This year, it was the biggest ever, with a sit-down dinner for 30 people! The party was definitely fun, and I was impressed by the hosts' ability to pull together a lovely (and massive) table setting for this many people.

Whether you've been planning your costume or party for months, or are stuck for last-minute ideas, you should definitely get out there and celebrate tonight! At my house, we'll be waiting on trick-or-treaters (or trying to) and then heading to a friend's party in San Francisco for the evening. I still haven't decided on a costume, but I'm sure I can whip something up at the last minute.

Website of the Day: Flavor Tunes

I love a good party, but for me, what truly makes a memorable bash is the selection of tunes blasting from the stereo. I know, most of us feel helpless when we go to a party or event and the music gets increasingly painful with every song. . . but there's hope! I've already told you about iTunes DJ, which allows you to select playlist songs from your iPhone, and now there's a site called Flavor Tunes, which makes it easy to collaborate with others on a party playlist! All you have to do is create a free online account and send out online invites to those who you want to help build your online streaming jukebox. Your friends can then help you create the most amazing playlist ever. From wedding songs to girls-night-out songs to Summer songs, there's already some on the site to choose from!

First of all, join the Website of the Day group.
Click the pink "Share" menu on the top left side of the page.

I recently ran across these gorgeous paper flowers from stylist Zoe Bradley. Zoe's paper creations have been seen everywhere, from the McQueen runway to the windows of Louis Vuitton and Donna Karan. While many of us will always prefer fresh flowers to paper ones, carefully crafted and displayed paper blooms, such as Zoe's, can make a huge visual impact. Imagine displaying them at a birthday party, baby shower, or even an outdoor wedding. I can see them hanging from trees, clustered in modern vases, or even tucked in party goers' chignons. Geek Tip: 3 Ways to Make Your Friends the Party DJ

Every good host knows you can't throw a party without good music, starting with crafting a great playlist. Once you have that, though, people still might have song requests, so let them be the DJ without having to keep getting on your playlist to change the song. Here are some fun ways to create a jukebox using the gadgets you may already have:

Download the free Fluid Tunes (pictured above) for the easiest and most fun iTunes DJ - it uses your computer's camera so that all your guests need to do is gesture - literally, wave their hands - to change the song.
