Recent research from The University of Tennessee has found that people have a hard time estimating the portion sizes of wedge-shaped foods like pizza, pie and cake. Even when given a special wedge measuring device, the people in the study still had a hard time estimating the size.
In light of this, it would seem wise to stick to non-wedge shaped foods or ask that your pizza be cut into squares instead of wedges.

This week got off to the right start as we celebrated our nation's star-studded birthday with crab cakes, jicama coleslaw, and elderflower cocktails.
Later, we paid homage to fried chicken, enjoyed the fruits of our labor in a peach taste test, and used leftovers to make a surprisingly delicious pizza.

When planning your rehearsal dinner, take into consideration the theme of the wedding. If you're having a black tie big day, don't host an equally formal rehearsal dinner. Instead throw a laid back luau, festive hoedown, or in the case of my girlfriend, Ronda, a backyard grilled pizza party.
