The other day DearSugar told me how she always saves her favorite part of a dish for last. For example, when she eats her daily salad at lunch she eats her favorite part — the protein last. I confessed that I do the same.

What's Your Preference: Sweet or Savory?

Yesterday evening over dinner, my cousin and I got into a discussion about sweet foods versus savory ones. He said he would take a dessert any day over something savory. I love them both but would definitely reach for salty things — among them chips and salsa, olives, and pickles — first.

Who Had The Hardest Commercial?

Last night on the Next Food Network Star the final three had to make a promotional commercial for their show and create an over the top buffet for Las Vegas performers. Former NFNS winner, Guy Fieri, coached the contestants and acted as the guest judge.

While each finalist ran into certain obstacles (Lisa burned her pork, Aaron bombed his introduction, and Adam went smoking crazy), I felt like the promos were totally unfair.

This past weekend, I tried out a new restaurant. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. Everything was either too salty, burned, or had a weird texture.
