Not ready to take the plunge and invest in an all red kitchen? Then create a big impact with minimal color investment by using a red stove or refrigerator in your kitchen. You can paint the rest of the kitchen with more neutral colors, or, as in this Amsterdam kitchen, you can choose gorgeous natural wooden cabinets.

It seems as if there are two different schools of fridge cleaning. There are those of us who wait forever to get the job done, and then complete an hours-long cleaning and tossing project, and those of us who spot clean every week or so to keep the fridge fresh-smelling and looking good. Make sure to check out YumSugar's fridge cleaning how-to, and in the meantime, tell me what your style is.

Thanks to Say Cheese!, my weekly series featuring different types of cheese, the charcuterie drawer in my refrigerator is full of cheese. However, when the packaging is removed and the cheese is partially grated, many of them look the same. To ensure that I don't confuse the pecorino with the parmesan, I've started labeling them.

Corkboards are helpful for displaying things that aren't "keepers," but using pushpins on your child's artwork or a memorable invitation can really ding it up. The obvious solution would be to use a magnet, but what if you don't have a magnetic refrigerator or other surface? If that's the case, then Good Grips MagTacks ($3.49, reduced from $6.99) are for you.

Although it's a dirty job, someone has to clean out the refrigerator. Especially if you cook at home often, it's best to get rid of old milk before it spoils. I clean my fridge out once a week, but if you haven't checked the contents of the cheese drawer in a while, I suggest you start your Spring cleaning now.

I never thought minifridges had anything to offer besides $6 water bottles and Toblerone bars, but I'm impressed with how visually appealing their artful arrangement is in this photo from Apartamento. Unfortunately, plugging five refrigerators into the wall is far from eco chic, but you can always use them to store your dishes without using any electricity! To see what's hiding behind those sealed doors, read more

I'm back with more tips on saving money and energy in your home. Unless your last name is Brady, if you've got an additional refrigerator in your garage or basement, especially an older one, you should reconsider whether you really need it. Refrigerators made after 1993, use only 48 percent of the energy expended, which can easily cost you $125-$150 a year in electricity bills.
