When you're trying to eat healthy, it seems logical to order an entree with vegetables as the main ingredient. Salads are scrumptious, veggie filled meals, but too many fatty extras and creamy salad dressings can ruin a salad's bill of health. This week seemed to fly by. Wasn't it Monday yesterday? In the kitchen, we were all over the food map, whether it was making syrup for sour cherry gin slings, grilling squid and Spanish-style sardines, or channeling the flavors (and colors) of Italy in a breezy Caprese salad.

After a nonstop month, we finally had some time to relax this week. We visited the city's newest street food market, entertained ourselves with a comical Sandra Lee video, and contemplated the cloudiness of ice cubes.
And, of course, we spent plenty of time in the kitchen, making olive oil ice cream, cherry pie, and summery Niçoise salad.

The latest Star Trek movie to hit the big screen is being released this Friday (!) and I cannot be more excited. Hot gadgets, hot cast, and a bunch of sci-fi tossed in for flavor makes the perfect geek movie salad if I do say so myself. Are you a closet Trekkie?
