Recently, writer Dan Savage posted about chocolate-covered bacon. The picture comes from Marini's in Santa Cruz, CA, and I happen to think it looks sort of tasty. I also happen to be pretty bummed that it wasn't available when I lived in Santa Cruz.

Lucky for me, Santa Cruz is just one(ish) hour away so a day trip is super easy. A friend just invited me to head down there with her for a day of shopping and chilling — you know I said yes! The weatherman predicted mid-70s so I need you to help me put together a cute, layered outfit.

David Beckham was in a celebratory mood on Friday as he helped Los Angeles Galaxy beat Houston Dynamo at home in the MLS Western Conference Championship. He snuggled up with his hair twin Cruz on the pitch afterwards, and Romeo and Brooklyn were also in the stands to watch their dad claim victory. Come Sunday David was riding solo, attending the P.S.

Lucky for me, Santa Cruz is just one(ish) hour away, so a day-trip is super easy. A friend invited me to head down there with her last weekend for a day of shopping and chilling — we had so much fun! Now that Victoria Beckham is back in the states, she and David spent some time with their youngest at the Grove in LA yesterday. Waiting for a table at a Caribbean joint a few weeks back, my friends and I were enchanted — possibly a bit too enchanted — by the ginger mojito on the cocktail menu. Fresh and crisp like the traditional rum drink but with a kick of aromatic ginger to balance the tang of the lime and the coolness of the mint, these mo'gingeritos were so good, I had to replicate the recipe.
While I have no idea how the restaurant made its cocktail, my at-home version tasted remarkably similar.

I wish there were a dozen of me so I could be at every single one of this week's events. Case in point: I'm going to have to choose between the Grilled Cheese Invitational and a clam chowder cook-off. Life is full of the most difficult decisions!

Exit polls are showing that Bolivia’s wealthiest province, Santa Cruz, voted to pass a measure yesterday that would grant them autonomy from the federal government. The federal government, lead by Evo Morales is calling this move “unconstitutional.”
Although a few hundred years and a couple of time zones separate the two, Bolivia is facing a heated smidge of the conundrum that Hamilton and Jefferson debated in the early years of the American republic: States' Rights versus Federal Government. The debate between the two sides in Bolivia was heated at best, violent at worst.
