On Thursday night I went to a swanky little launch party at the sleek Zephyr Showroom. The highlight of the evening — hosted by San Francisco's Junior League — wasn't the drinks or the decor, but the cylindrical appetizer holder! Heads turned as the caterers walked by holding the long skinny pole with skewered salmon sticking out of it.

Crudites and dip on a ceramic vintage camera dish? Coming right up! I'm kind of entranced by this Camera Serving Dish ($72) by Cul-de-Sac; its photography print and the fact that you can serve food on it and put it in the dishwasher might put it on my home must haves list.

Surrounded by vegetarians and vegans, the arrival of the holidays always leaves me a little perplexed as to what's best to serve them during a festive meal. Can you help me find a fabulous trifle dish? Look for large, clear vessels that can hold the delicious dessert, layered salads, or fun centerpieces.

With an epic feast only a few days away, shun poultry (you'll be having it for days!) in favor of something on the opposite end of the flavor spectrum, such as a flaky white fish. Not only does sole make for a lighter dinner alternative and a great source of protein, but it's also extremely affordable. Keep the preparation super simple by dredging the fillets briefly in a mixture of flour, lemon, and white pepper, then pan-sauté in olive oil.

Who says a burger has to be served between two buns? This recipe takes the traditional notion of the cheeseburger and turns it on its head. Instead of crumbling cheese over the patties, the feta is stuffed into the middle of a ground meat mixture.
