They say that life only gets better with age and after watching this spectacular shopping cart show, I'm a believer. If the elderly can squeeze this much joy and entertainment out of a couple of empty grocery carts then imagine the bliss they must feel when they — oh, I don't know — finish that 24,000-piece jigsaw puzzle or score the last prune in the cookie jar. I'm incredibly jealous, but watching Swan Parking Lot here should make it all better .

Do you ever wander the aisles of a grocery store hunting for a particular item and wish there was an easy way to find it? Well the folks at Microsoft have partnered with the Wakefern Food Corporation and will provide their customers with grocery cart-mounted consoles that will help them navigate the store. It also allows them to scan and pay for their items without waiting in line.

Believe it or not, February is Return Shopping Carts to the Supermarket Month. Why on earth we need an amnesty month where people can return their shopping carts is beyond me - although, why people would take shopping carts home is also beyond me. I personally try to use tote bags and reusable bags to carry my groceries home.

He's a man with great compassion for the lost, abandoned, and overlooked in this parking lot forsaken world. We see it every day: a stray buggy deserted on the side of Random Street USA, all on its own, and far from the market it calls home. Liberty Fillmore tirelessly hits the streets to return these buggies to their lots of origin, but not without a bit of bonding along the way.

Did you know that studies have shown there could be 1 million germs on just ONE shopping cart handle? Well there are and I'm totally freaked out.
It makes sense when you think about it, with all the hands and food, not to mention the mouths of children, that come into contact with a grocery cart I am surprised there aren't more than a cool million.

I never realized that runaway shopping carts were such an issue until I saw a mother running after a cart that was flying through the parking lot with her tot inside. I must not be the only one who has witnessed this, as I was recently made aware of two products designed to prevent such incidents.
The Cart Stopper (shown on the left) and the Kart Katcher (shown on the right) secure shopping carts to vehicles to keep you from having to sprint through the parking lot.

How would you like it if grocery carts had touch screens and barcode scanners that you could use to get nutritional info and environmental impact info from about various foods? The Technology Services Company, EDS, outlined in a recent paper that grocery carts with computer screens would be a practical and cost-effective solution to consumers who like knowing about the foods they consume— even though most said they preferred reading labels directly from the box. Considering the fact that people steal shopping carts minus any high tech trinkets, I can only imagine how crazy thieves would go over these!

Los Angeles-based performance artist Hillary Carlip believes our shopping lists are like mirrors to our personalities and style.
NPR featured an entertaining profile of Hillary, who has dedicated her life to searching for and decoding shopping lists she finds around town, and then turning them into characters.
Hillary began collecting lists when she was 15 and found a list for Twizzlers, peanut brittle, and gum on the back of a dental appointment reminder card in NYC.

I don't know much about the Korean language but if it's as logical as this one word, I have a feeling I'll like it: eggi means baby. I love the simplicity and cuteness of it, much like the company that includes it in their brand: Baby Eggi.
A clothing label made just for kiddos, Baby Eggi is sweet, sassy and cool all in one.
