PetSugar and I recently got into a discussion over milk. I grew up knowing that there was whole milk, lowfat milk and nonfat milk. However she grew up calling nonfat milk skim milk.

Everyone is always asking what they should eat or drink after working out. The truth is that there is not one single food or drink that is best to consume post workout. Basically, after working out we all need to replenish lost gylcogen, which means you're going to need protein and carbs, so it's good to eat something with a good balance of the two.

New reports are telling tales of greener pastures filled with herds of cows producing skimmed milk.
Right now the process of getting skim (or non-fat) milk involves removing fat from the milk. Many feel this leaves an unsatisfactory taste and lots of fatty waste.

Along with the birthday cake and balloons, there's another reason mommies are jubilant on a child's first birthday — milk! When babes reach their 1-year mark, it most often means they can start chugging cow's milk instead of formula or in addition to breast milk. In most instances, it means mum can start stocking up on gallons of milk (about $8/week) rather than relying solely on the breast or expensive formula ($29/can).

Designed by nutritionist Barbara Rolls, PhD, it's based on the simple fact that people love food. It doesn't deprive you of any types of food, since limiting your diet too severely can cause you to binge and won't help you lose weight.

Got (one percent) milk? The Daily Mail reports that after a British watchdog organization cautioned against excessive intake of saturated fat, sales of one percent milk have skyrocketed in the United Kingdom. The Food Standards Agency warned that whole milk can lead to heart disease and clogged arteries, so shoppers swapped out whole milk in exchange for one percent, which contains more flavor than skim milk.
