In terms of classic culinary combinations, there is nothing quite as comforting as a bowl of tomato soup paired with a crisp grilled cheese sandwich. This satisfying duo is a staple during colder months and now, with this recipe, it can translate to Summer.
Chunks of tomatoes are pureed with red wine vinegar and tomato juice to create a simple and pure gazpacho.

Even if you aren't a fan of warm soups in Summer, it'd be hard not to get behind the tart, herbaceous, chilled Spanish soup known as gazpacho. In-season tomatoes provide a savory acidity, emulsified olive oil gives a creamy mouth-feel, and garlic packs a punch. In traditional Spanish recipes, the addition of day-old bread adds weight and body.

Gail Simmons served this classic summertime soup at her wedding. Do you know what it's called?

One recent Summer afternoon at Sam's Chowder House, I enjoyed some of the best New England clam chowder I'd ever had. Ever since, then, I've had lingering thoughts of making an inspired version at home, which was further encouraged when I came across a copy of The Summer Shack Cookbook, in which I earmarked a promising recipe for fresh-from-scratch, authentic New England clam chowder.
The recipe calls for quahogs, the unofficial chowder clam of New England, but since those aren't widely available on the West Coast, I substituted them with Manila clams.

I was telling my sweetheart the other day, soup has always been one of my favorite things, regardless of the situation (or the weather forecast, for that matter). Now that the days have grown balmier, there's been talk again of busting out the barbeque. Does that mean it's time to stop slurping soup?

This fragrant and scrumptious recipe is a cinch to throw together, making it the perfect midweek pick-me-up. It combines the exotic freshness of Thai cuisine with the comforting classic, chicken soup.
Although the ingredient list only calls for carrots, I plan on throwing in lots more vegetables like asparagus, green onions, and mushrooms.

Two weeks ago, I was starting to panic. Wedding season was nearly upon us and I had no bride and groom. Luckily I got a call from one of my oldest friends announcing her engagement!

Delight your family with this divine chowder recipe. The salty porkiness of the bacon is balanced by the oceanic freshness of the crabmeat, making for a soup that is filling and well-balanced.
It's also chock-full of vegetables — potatoes, leeks, red pepper, corn — which means it's a meal in a bowl.

Hand me any soup with dumplings, and I'll devour it; I simply love them that much. Not quite bread, not quite noodle, dumplings are the perfect chewy bite of comfort — especially when served with a myriad of different vegetables.
Aside from the slow cooker doing all the work, and the delectable dumpling aspect, the beauty of this dish is its versatility: substitute zucchini for green beans, or fresh, in-season morels for cremini mushrooms.

Every year, I try my hardest not to get sick during cold season, but inevitably I always do. This month, it hit me hard, and I spent a lot of time drinking lemon honey water. I craved mostly refrigerated Cuties and classic chicken noodle soup by the bucket.
