As much as I hate to see the Summer go, I always enjoy September. San Francisco's weather finally warms up and it's my birthday! The month also marks the start of Fall, which means heading back to school and a new season of fruits and vegetables.

Tupp-a-lamps ($75) are pendant lights upcycled from vintage Tupperware products. I love the eco-friendly aspect and think it's a clever idea, but I can't see them working well anywhere but a retro kitchen. What do you think?

If you are dieting or trying to save some dough, you should really be brown bagging your lunch. Make it at home and take it with you wherever you may roam. You not only save money (sandwiches can be upwards of $7 around where I work), but you also can control your portions and calorie intake.

When I read this suggestion in US News, it served as a reminder to finally follow through with my weekly thoughts to bring Tupperware to the office. Storing a few containers at your desk to take home leftovers from company-sponsored lunches in the office is a smart idea — around here we're constantly getting emails to scoop up leftovers before they're trashed. If nobody takes the food, it will be thrown away anyway, and it's a simple matter of remembering to bring the Tupperware in the first place.

The long, relaxing days on the beach spent with friends and family make Summer memories that take us through the colder months. Make those beach days last by packing a cooler full of healthy items; you'll be able to refuse a second trip to the ice cream truck, and you won't have to head home early from a grumbling tummy. Healthy beach preparation will be a cinch when you remember to have these five things on hand.

Instead of recycling glass jars, go eco chic and place them in the dishwasher. Once they're clean, hold onto them. I started doing this last year and have come to rely on the glass jars for a variety of uses.
