I know you know that Thanksgiving is just around the corner, but do you know the nutritional differences between white and dark turkey meat? I'm a fan of all parts of the bird, but I know many people who avoid dark meat because they think it's much more unhealthy than white meat. So I made a handy chart so you can see how they compare.

Turducken
A deboned turkey that's stuffed with a deboned duck that's stuffed with a deboned chicken. The cavity of the chicken is usually filled with sausage, breadcrumbs, or stuffing. Born in the South in the 1980s, it can be braised, roasted, grilled, or barbecued.

Fall is coming, which means so are fall yummies. In fact the chills of the evening lead me to mash up a side of red potatoes last night with dinner, and they were delish. Turns out, mashed potatoes made MSNBC's list of the eight most fattening foods of Fall.

Most people have heard of Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs 4th of July competition - the one where Takeru Kobayashi shoves hot dogs in his mouth at lightening speeds - but did you realize that there are many different kinds of competitive eating contests? If you think shoving 59 hot dogs in your face is wild, how do you feel about pigs' feet and knuckles (the winner recently ate 2.89 pounds of the stuff) or gyoza (212 of them).
