If you're the eater in a dinner-party relationship — the person who comes over to chow down — then you may want to thank your entertainer by adding them to your holiday list. You could opt for a nice bottle of wine, but since that is so obvious, why not get them something a little more unique? There are quite a few things for the dinner party enthusiast, you can surprise them with this clever baguette tray and knife ($38) — it is a bit specialized, but is still a load of fun — or splurge and get them a new set of placemats.

At first glance you may think, wow what's with the up-side-down wine glasses? But look a little closer and you'll notice that these are not, in fact wine glasses. No that's not a ruby Pinot Noir and a yellow-y Chardonnay; it's actually red wine vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.

I found these expensive wineglasses that look like cheap disposable plastic cups on stilts. They're called "sommelier" and are handblown in the Czech Republic by Maxim Velcovsky for Qubus Design Studio. A single glass will cost £25 (about $50).

A healthy dessert almost sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it? However it can be done, so here are five more yummy but healthy (and easy, might I add) dessert ideas from FitnessMagazine.com:
Angel Berry Trifle: Cut a premade angel food cake into bite-size pieces; layer with fresh berries and low-fat or fat-free vanilla pudding in a large trifle bowl or individual parfait glasses.
Chocolate Mint Sundae: Top one premade brownie with scoop of low-fat mint-chocolate ice cream or frozen yogurt. Lightly drizzle with 1 teaspoon chocolate syrup, and garnish with fresh mint sprig.
Orange Bowl: Slice large orange in half; scoop out orange sections, keeping peels intact.

Drinking wine is more popular than ever, and now the oenophile trend is extending to home decor as well. Lately, I've noticed the iconic stemmed wine-glass shape is showing up in clever serving pieces — such as this Jansen + Co. Ming Oil and Vinegar Set ($28) — as well as candle holders, light fixtures, and one very cool doorbell.
